Individual Journeys
February 6, 2009
We
are all individual souls, traveling individual journeys of life.
Each choice we make affects the collective whole and the individual
lives of many.
One
soul, one life in particular had the most amazing affect on many lives. Each person
that was gifted to have their life touched by
hers was then able to send that
magical touch to many others.
That
is the true celebration, that within our life we affect a positive change
within the world. Many die younger than others and still have
left the gift of
inspiration
and love forever here. There is also the amazing gift of life that the
elderly contribute that is sometimes overlooked. They bring years
of hard earned
wisdom
of vast experience on how to live life without regrets. As the
physical body breaks away and deteriorates, all that is left is the
core of who
we
really are and what is truly important. Forgiveness is the answer time brings.
Forgiveness of others, but most important, compassion
for all your actions of life.
We
can never go back and change a thing, the lessons learned have been for a higher
purpose. They are meant to bring us closer to the unending love
of God for us
and
accepting this brings us to everlasting life. The question now becomes what did
we do with that truth while we were living.
On Sunday, February 1st at 6 PM one of the most loving
people that graced us
with
her presence on this earth passed on into the loving arms of her Creator. Her
86 years of life brought generosity to the poor
of spirit and compassion to those who
struggled within life's journey. Her kindness extended beyond the limits of her smile,
laughter, a song sung in unison or the offering
of food as a sign of love. It all came
from her heart and the commitment to serve all God's children. Her unbelievable
patience taught many the meaning of giving without
the expectation of
receiving.
She demonstrated incredible spiritual strength that surpassed her
physical pain. She never allowed a hint of her pain or fatigue
to be witnessed.
As
the years robbed her of the simple physical abilities we often take for granted,
her outward physical beauty remained perfected by the glow of her
inner spirit.
I will
be forever grateful that I was blessed to be her daughter as I make the
promise to continue to spread the hope, joy and laughter that was
uniquely hers
with
the same song in my heart. Her presence will never die and the memories
that she created will remain forever. As I hear her sing, "You
are my sunshine...",
I
sing back," I love you, Mama!"
